Membership Development Committee
To promote membership in LITA by designing and implementing programs and activities to attract new members, retain current members and promote the active participation of all members. To serve as LITA liaison to the ALA Membership Committee. To design activities that will foster the development of leadership skills for LITA leaders. To advise the LITA Board of Directors on policies relating to membership and dues, and on the development of promotional materials and activities. To assist the Committee Chair Coordinator and Interest Group Coordinator by providing documentation and defining expectations for the roles of Committee and IG Chairs.
The Membership Development Committee Chair also serves as the LITA Representative to the ALA Membership Committee. Alternatively, the Chair may officially appoint a committee member to serve as the LITA Representative. The Chair will notify the LITA Office with the name of the LITA Representative to the ALA Membership Committee so that all rosters and distribution lists can be updated. Action items and items of relevance to LITA are to be reported by the LITA Rep to the LITA President and Executive Director. Composition:
Membership shall include one LITA Board member and four to eight members from the division at large.
