LITA/Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship Committee

The Committee selects the recipient of the LITA/Christian Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology. This scholarship is awarded to a student at the master's degree level in an ALA accredited program in library and information science. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library automation/technology field who plan to follow a career in that field and who evidence leadership potential in, and a strong committment to, the use of automated systems in libraries. (Previously called the LITA/CLSI Scholarship Subcommittee) Additional information about the scholarship can be found at LITA Scholarships & Awards.

The Committee completes it work electronically. No face-to-face meetings are necessary. The committee receives copies of completed applications in the spring and selects the winners after conferring via e-mail.

Appointment is for one year with no reappointment the following year, except that one member may be appointed chair for the following year and the immediate past chair serves as an advisor.
