Institute for Information Literacy Assessment Immersion Program
December 4-7, 2008, Nashville, Tennessee
ACRL’s Institute for Information Literacy is pleased to announce a new addition to its popular Immersion program!  The Assessment Immersion Track: Assessment in Practice is intended for librarians active in teaching and learning and those with leadership roles for information literacy program development who want to improve their knowledge and practice of both classroom and program assessment.  The deadline to apply for the 2008 program has passed. 

Women's Leadership Institute
December 7-10, 2008, Amelia Island, Florida
Be a part of a special program for women seeking to become leaders in higher education administration.  With the sponsorship of seven higher education associations, this unique program will bring together mid-level administrators from across campus functions to share experiences, develop a better understanding of the campus as a workplace and culture, and create new networks and networking skills.  The deadline to apply for the 2008 program has passed.

RBMS Workshop on Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Books)
December 12, 2008, New Haven, Connecticut
Through lectures, visual aids, and in-class exercises, workshop participants will be introduced to and gain some practical experience in using Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Books) (DCRM(B)). We will focus on the descriptive portions of the bibliographic record, following the scope of DCRM(B), with special emphasis on the changes from Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Books (DCRB). The workshop is suitable for those with working cataloging experience who wish to be introduced to rare book cataloging, as well as for those experienced in DCRB who wish to be trained in DCRM(B).

Institute for Information Literacy Immersion '09 Program
July 26-31, 2009, St. Petersburg, Florida

The invitation to apply for Immersion '09 is now available.  Applications are due by December 8, 2008.  2009 will bring a new structure to the Immersion Program: for the first time, Intentional Teacher & Assessment Immersion will be offered simultaneously, in late fall 2009.  Teacher Track & Program Track will continue to be offered together in summer 2009.  This new schedule blends Immersion programs with similar formats and lengths to offer a more cohesive Immersion experience.
